As summer temperatures continue to soar, Desert Hills High School has a plan to keep parents and students cool later this month.
The high school, located at 1515 S. Val Vista Dr. in Gilbert, is hosting an Ice Cream Social and Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21.
On hand will be administrators and teachers to discuss academic and athletic programs available for students in grades 9-12, including:
* Dual Enrollment classes taught in conjunction with Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Students at Desert Hills can simultaneously earn college and high school business credit.
*Advanced Placement (AP) courses
* Honors classes
* Transportation available
* Four-day-a-week class schedule
* Three class periods per day
* Chapters of the following national organizations:
National Honor Society
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Future Farmers of America (FFA)
International Thespian Society
* Agricultural program
* Sports, including:
Volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, softball – Girls
Football, basketball, baseball, soccer – Boys
* Tuition free
* Preparatory school environment
